We’ve Got A Mountain To Climb

November 23, 2010

When we Dundee fans were told the scale of our clubs financial situation we all agreed that we had a huge mountain to climb in order to keep our club alive.

On Sunday a group of 9 supporters did their big to help climb this mountain by, you guessed it, climbing a mountain.

The group set off on Sunday morning and after the 7 hour trek in deep snow and -15 degree temperatures reached the highest point in Britain, the summit of Ben Nevis.

The hard work raised over £3500 but it’s still not over for all involved. Simon MacKay explains, “I live beside the Ben and asking the locals to sponsor 1 climb up the it is akin to a Dundonain asking for sponsorship to climb the hilltown.

“I’m personally having to climb the Ben 7 times for my sponsorship which equates to roughly the size of Everest. The thinking was DFC has their biggest ever mountain to climb so I would match that by climbing the height of the biggest mountain in the world.”

I’d like to say well done to all the guys for the great achievement and good luck to Simon on his remaining climbs.
